About The Position
Coastal Security Services, Inc. (CSSI) is seeking a full-time Armed Campus Security Officer to provide security at K-12 school campuses in the Savannah, GA area. The role involves maintaining a safe and secure learning environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position requires a professional, alert, and composed individual with an understanding of the unique responsibilities of protecting a school environment. Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid Georgia Armed Guard License issued by the Georgia Board of Private Detective and Security Agencies (required — this is an armed position)
- Clean criminal background — must pass state and federal background check and additional school district screening
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation
- Must reside in or be willing to commute to the Savannah, GA area
- Availability to work Monday through Friday during school hours
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional demeanor and composure under pressure
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and perform foot patrols
- High school diploma or GED
Nice To Haves
- Prior law enforcement, military, or armed security experience
- School or campus security experience
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Crisis intervention or de-escalation training
- Familiarity with access control systems, CCTV, and incident reporting
Responsibilities
- Provide armed security coverage at assigned K-12 campus(es)
- Monitor access points and control entry to school buildings and grounds
- Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeters
- Coordinate with school administration, faculty, and local law enforcement
- Monitor CCTV and alarm systems as applicable
- Assist with emergency drills and school safety protocols
- Maintain accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation
- Serve as a visible deterrent and professional security presence

- Overtime is paid at 1.5x for all hours over 40 in a work week.
