About The Position

Hato Hone St John is seeking an Area Youth Manager for the Taranaki region. This pivotal role within the Youth team reports to the District Youth Manager and involves providing mentoring, development, and people leadership to Divisional and Assistant Divisional Managers. The successful candidate will utilize strong organizational skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships to support the Divisions in achieving the IBP and Youth Strategy objectives. This role offers opportunities for personal and professional development and the chance to make a significant impact on young people's lives through St John's Youth Programme, which focuses on building confidence, empathy, life, health, and leadership skills.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a leadership/management role developing others.
• A real team player with a keen interest in working with young people.
• An aptitude for working with a diverse demographic group (e.g., age, culture, background).
• Ability to prioritize time/workload to meet deadlines.
• A proven ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
• Customer-focused with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Natural talent for thinking and working outside the square.
• Contribute a minimum of two hours per week to the role.
• Attend overnight camps and competitions from time to time.

Responsibilities

• Assist the District Youth Manager to meet the requirements of the Youth Business Plan.
• Support Divisions to develop and deliver high-quality programmes in line with the national curriculum, ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery to youth and the community.
• Promote the youth programme to increase youth and adult membership.
• Support and manage Divisional recruitment through events and completion of recruitment processes.
• Provide on-going support and mentoring to Divisions.
• Conduct audits and inspections to ensure divisions are operating within their guidelines and St John policy.
• Organise and actively participate in District/Regional youth events and activities.
