About The Position

This field-based leadership role supports Abbott’s Vascular division, which delivers innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for vascular disease treatment. As an Area Vice President (AVP), you will report to the Divisional Vice President and lead a high-performing sales organization to achieve strategic and financial goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of successful people management
  • 10+ years in medical devices, preferably in a regulated environment
  • Willingness to travel 50–75% for regional/national initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and margin targets (monthly/quarterly/annually)
  • Align business plans with national strategic objectives and ensure KPI performance
  • Partner with Enterprise Accounts to drive contract compliance and portfolio pull-through
  • Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop a diverse, high-performing team
  • Set clear expectations, drive accountability, and recognize achievements
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement
  • Conduct regular 1:1s and team calls to review performance, development, and strategic initiatives
  • Guide accurate forecasting and business planning at the territory, region, and area levels
  • Ensure adherence to reporting systems and use of analytics tools
  • Optimize field resource deployment and territory alignment
  • Maintain compliance with expense reporting and training requirements
  • Prioritize customer targets based on opportunity and strategic value
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction
  • Manage pricing, contracts, and key opinion leader (KOL) relationships
  • Provide market insights and customer feedback to internal stakeholders
  • Lead by example and build a results-oriented, ethical team culture
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, MedEd, Clinical Affairs, and Commercial Excellence
