About The Position

We're looking for a dedicated and skilled Area Supervisor in the Waters service area to lead safe and efficient maintenance, construction, and emergency restoration activities for our electric distribution system within a designated service area. This role involves supervising field crews, ensuring work quality and adherence to safety protocols, and coordinating directly with members and contractors to maintain reliable electric service.

Requirements

  • Six or more years in electric line operations, ideally with time as a working foreman.
  • An Associate's degree in a technical field or similar training.
  • A valid Michigan driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • A DOT unrestricted CDL with group A designation and air brake endorsement.
  • Comfortable with industry-specific tools.
  • Proficiency in software like Customer Information Systems (CIS) and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to balance hands-on work with administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safe and efficient maintenance, construction, and emergency restoration activities for the electric distribution system.
  • Supervise field crews.
  • Ensure work quality and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Coordinate directly with members and contractors to maintain reliable electric service.
  • Review the day's assignments and prepare schedules for the crew.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment, materials, and safety gear are ready for the day's tasks.
  • Oversee maintenance, construction, or restoration work in the field.
  • Monitor ongoing projects, verifying that safety protocols are being followed and that quality standards are met.
  • Conduct staking or design operations for new installations.
  • Communicate with customers to clarify project requirements and provide cost estimates.
  • Meet with contractors to coordinate schedules, review project quality, or address any unexpected challenges.
  • Assess service issues and ensure the team is ready to respond.
  • Complete administrative tasks like processing time sheets, updating records, and documenting work performed.
