About The Position

Eaton's Electrical sector is currently looking for an Area Sales Manager. This position can be located in one of our locations: Mississauga, Toronto and Montreal and offers benefits from day one as well as a company vehicle. The targeted total compensation range for this role is $132,000 - $165,000 inclusive of the bonus. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do: This position is responsible for the attainment of sales objectives for the Bussmann division in the assigned geographic territory. The objectives are achieved by the promotion and development of existing and expanded products and markets. This individual will provide leadership and development to a sales team consisting of CEMRA Sales Agencies (Canadian Electrical Manufacturers’ Representatives Association) selling primarily through electrical distributors. Expected results include but are not limited to growth in sales and market share, channel development as well as developing talent within the district. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Grow sales in an approximately $15M-20M territory Manage sales team of 3 sales agents along with a handful of direct accounts in the Canadian market Responsible for the team sales of Division products to original equipment manufacturers, contractors and through distributors to various end customers Maintain contact with management of key accounts located within the assigned territory Implement promotional programs with the following users and buying influences: Distributors, Original Equipment Manufacturers, contractors, industrial MRO users, and commercial users Develop and recommend sales plans, forecasts and objectives for assigned accounts in support of long and short-term sales objectives Collects and supplies information to enable management to establish sales goals and objectives Assist buying accounts in a wide variety of customer service activities to ensure continuing satisfaction with the Division and its products Dimensions: Nature and Scope: It is the Division’s sales philosophy to convince specifiers, users and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to utilize fuse technology in the design/ use of their product and, further, to specify Bussmann fuses. This pull through approach is accomplished through a system of authorized distributors and selected OEMs. Reporting to a Regional Sales Director, this position is responsible for translating this philosophy into actual sales in their assigned territory. To accomplish this, the incumbent will initiate a variety of activities (to include personal contact, group presentations, training, etc.) with industry influences that will directly influence future sales. This sales activity is a major part of the job. The DSM has frequent contact with electrical distributors, Industrial plant and maintenance engineers, consulting engineers, electrical contractors, OEMs, and other key buying influences. The DSM will possess an understanding of Bussmann’s markets, customers, and application of over current protective devices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required from an accredited institution
  • Minimum seven (7) years electrical industry sales/marketing and/or engineering experience
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
  • Legally authorized to work in the Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates currently residing within 100 kilometers of Mississauga, Toronto, or Montreal will be considered.
