About The Position

This role is responsible for managing the complex sales process of da Vinci® Surgical Systems into new hospitals and upgrades into existing hospitals. The Area Sales Manager will build support from surgeons and administration for da Vinci® Surgery, identify key institutions, generate market awareness, and drive sales within an assigned territory. They will effectively manage the transition of initial sales and installations to the sales team to drive procedural volume and growth, achieve quarterly sales targets, and partner with the da Vinci® Area Sales Director to develop a sales plan for their local territory. The role involves building surgical advocacy teams at each hospital, developing initial contact and relationships with CEOs and senior hospital administrators, organizing and managing the sales process, developing knowledge of primary OR procedures, making business cases for system purchases, resolving contractual issues, and coordinating system installation upon purchase approval. The position also requires handling all communications and administrative follow-up.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years sales experience
  • Preference for experience in healthcare or capital sales
  • Knowledge of the operating room environment
  • Proven successful track record in capital medical equipment sales
  • Bachelor’s degree required
