About The Position

This position is responsible for managing and developing the full Riboli Family Wine & Spirits portfolio across the retail chain channel of trade in East Bay. Responsible for all distribution, cold box, planner, and display activity within target account listing / area. Conduct market work-withs and drive sales volume in conjunction with assigned Wholesaler. At Riboli Family Wines, we've spent over a century perfecting our craft—and we're just getting started. Requirements

  • A four-year college degree and/or equivalent work experience enabling the incumbent to perform job responsibilities as required. (Equivalent work experience could include supplier, distributor sales or wine industry management jobs)
  • Minimum of 3+ years of wine industry experience
  • Proficient written communication skills. Incumbent must possess the ability to develop and provide all necessary written reports, correspondence and presentations necessary to satisfy job requirements
  • Proficient oral communication and interpersonal skills. Incumbent must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and public. Incumbent must articulate in a professional and personable manner to be a strong leader and partner to Riboli Customers and Trade.
  • Ability to have fluent knowledge of PC, working within Microsoft Office – Word, PowerPoint, Excel and any other company software is critical to the success of this position
  • Mathematical skills; must have the ability to calculate and interpret financial data that is used to manager everyday business
  • Interpretive skills; must possess the ability to define problems, establish facts and collect data to interpret issues, draw valid conclusions from the data and recommend solutions to each business problem. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of statistical information.
  • Must reside in East Bay
  • Current valid driver’s license
  • Overnight travel as required and must be able to meet minimum requirement travel schedule for assigned territories

  • Employee must comply with all federal, state and local laws and regulations which govern the alcoholic beverage industry (such as RBS Certfication) and maintain at all times the highest ethical business standards and fiduciary duty on behalf of the company and its customers

  • For certain markets multi-language skills are/may be required or would be a plus, i.e. Italian or Spanish (if required this will be identified during the recruitment process)

Responsibilities

  • Working in the market with distributor personnel to stay in tune with market conditions and trends and to assist in the placement of Riboli Family Wines.
  • Manage execution and compliance for the retail chain stores across a target list of accounts/geographies in conjunction with distributor sales reps.
  • Drive monthly focus goals with accounts and Wholesale team via displays, cold box execution, and various market activities across a targeted retail chain account list.
  • Utilize POS to merchandise displays, shelves, and cold box effectively.
  • Build relationships with key customers such as Chain Field District Managers, Concierge, and Wine Managers.
  • Conduct/Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual business planning meetings with Distributor personnel and Riboli Management.
  • Attend/ Present at distributor retail chain division team meetings and general sales meetings.
  • Submit weekly recaps to Riboli California leadership team.
  • Track monthly sales activity and goal progress to deliver monthly/quarterly analysis report to the Wholesaler.
  • Able to set up and conduct wine & spirit tastings on a weekly/bi-weekly basis within your account listing universe.
  • Consistently work to add value to the Wholesaler in helping them meet their business needs with the prime objective to become their preferred supplier.
  • Able to work within key budget guidelines set forth by Riboli management in California.
  • Must be able to conform to working conditions to meet the demands of the market. This may include working evenings and weekends.
  • Travel as necessary to meet job responsibilities as outlined herein.
  • Work with field management and wholesaler leadership to identify problems and create solutions pertaining to Riboli Family Wines portfolio.
  • Job execution will break into following components: 80% - Working in the Field selling and following up on program execution (Solo, with Distributor partner, or with Riboli Manager), 10% - Admin, Preplanning, Follow up, recaps, Goal setting (VIP / Report submissions), 10% - Conducting demos / in-store tastings.
