About The Position

Eaton's North American Sales Division is currently seeking an Area Sales Manager for its New Jersey team. This role will be based in our Mountainside, NJ office and will focus on power distribution solutions. This exciting opportunity provides leadership of a sales team and management of a defined customer base and channels to achieve district results, while offering a strong employee development and coaching opportunity. It also includes responsibility for developing and implementing sales strategies, conducting market intelligence, and delivering customer presentations to grow sales and market share. The Area Sales Manager leads a defined geography to deliver profitable growth by building strong customer and channel relationships, coaching disciplined sales execution, and translating enterprise direction into consistent local action. The role owns pipeline health and forecast integrity, reinforces standard work and tool adoption, and develops a capable, accountable sales team. Primary function: Translate enterprise direction into disciplined local execution by leading customer growth, coaching performance, and ensuring consistent follow-through that delivers profitable results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution
  • Minimum seven (7) years electrical industry sales/marketing and/or engineering experience
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
  • Candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Mountainside, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Drive profitable growth by building strong customer and channel relationships across the area in scope.
  • Lead and maintain relationships with key partners, contractors, and distributors.
  • Represent the business locally with customers and partners to strengthen market presence.
  • Lead sales teams through the full sales cycle, from opportunity identification through close and follow‑on business.
  • Ensure consistent, high‑quality sales execution, including opportunity qualification, pricing, and risk management.
  • Maintain an accurate and healthy sales pipeline to support reliable forecasting and business planning.
  • Identify and address pipeline gaps, stalled opportunities, and execution risks early.
  • Set clear performance expectations and hold teams accountable for sales, orders, and profitability.
  • Review results regularly to reinforce learning, improve performance, and recognize success.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align priorities and remove barriers to execution.
  • Translate customer and market insights into actions that improve competitiveness and results.
  • Ensure consistent use of sales tools, processes, and data to support decision‑making.
  • Build, coach, and retain a high‑performing sales team; support talent development and succession planning.
