About The Position

The Area Manager will be responsible for supervising Locate Supervisors, overseeing workload distribution, managing customer relations, and interacting with Corporate, IT, purchasing, homeowners, and the general public. This role also involves overseeing disciplinary actions, inspecting vehicles and equipment, managing inventory ordering, mentoring supervisors for performance improvement, assisting in damage resolution, interpreting reports (PDR, audits, production), assisting in difficult locate jobs, maintaining force to load requirements, and conducting performance reviews for staff.

Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Clean background check for access to restricted and/or controlled areas
  • Valid driver license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass random drug screens and to remain drug free
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to locate
  • Ability to effectively perform a PDR or damage investigation
  • Ability to interact with all involved, the public, customers, contractors, utility representatives and all those under their direction
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Experienced in effective leadership in the locating industry
  • Excellent communications skills oral and written
  • Comprehensive understanding of underground utility construction and placement required
  • Successfully complete company provided Locate Technician training program and pass all required testing
  • Requires long hours when necessary
  • May require weekend and holiday work when necessary
  • Some travel maybe required including overnight stays and out of town assignments and or training
  • Must have above average computer skills
  • Three to five years’ experience
