About The Position

McKesson Medical-Surgical is seeking an Area Sales Manager to lead our Post-Acute Care sales team across Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. This is a highly visible leadership role with approximately 75% field engagement. Success requires being present with your team, building customer relationships, and providing hands-on coaching throughout the region. Experience within the Post-Acute Care market and established customer relationships are highly valued. Requirements

  • 9 years professional experience
  • 1+ years leading people directly or indirectly
  • Valid Driver's License: 7-Year Motor Vehicle Record Check completed during pre-employment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling into or supporting the Post-Acute Care market, including Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs), Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs), Hospice, and Home Health customers.
  • Existing customer relationships within the territory are highly valued.
  • Healthcare, medical distribution, or related industry experience.
  • Experience leading multi-state territories and geographically dispersed teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a geographically dispersed team across Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
  • Support both experienced and emerging sales professionals through regular field travel, coaching, mentorship, and career development.
  • Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain top sales talent while creating an environment where employees feel supported, engaged, and empowered to succeed.
  • Serve as a visible leader in the field by partnering with sales representatives on customer engagements, strengthening key relationships, and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Post-Acute Care customers and key decision-makers while supporting strategies that increase market share and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and execute regional growth strategies while managing a territory generating more than $90M in annual revenue.
  • Drive achievement of revenue, profitability, and market growth objectives through effective sales leadership, performance management, and data-informed decision-making.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent execution, operational excellence, and exceptional customer outcomes.
