About The Position

At Medtronic, the Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Area Sales Manager is responsible for selling all Medtronic Surgical Technologies ENT products to hospitals, physicians, and other approved customers within their assigned territory to achieve established quotas and sales objectives. This is a field-based position requiring the candidate to reside within the territory and drive to multiple accounts. The role involves conducting face-to-face sales calls, demonstrating and in-servicing products, and executing Sales Action Plans. The position requires the use of personal vehicles for transportation of inventory and travel, including potential overnight stays and travel outside the territory. The role also includes providing clinical support, reporting competitive activity, and maintaining company property. The ENT Operating Unit is a global leader in innovative ENT solutions, focusing on image-guided surgery, intraoperative nerve monitoring, and powered surgical instruments, among other areas.

Requirements

  • Minimum Requirement: High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND 8+ years of experience OR Associate’s Degree AND 6+ years of experience OR Bachelor’s Degree AND 4+ years of experience.
  • Relevant sales, clinical, or related experience in medical devices, medtech, healthcare, or life sciences.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy.
  • Must be able to drive approximately 75% of the time within assigned territory and may require overnight travel.
  • Must be able to carry products.
  • Requires the incumbent to maintain and transport demonstration equipment to customers’ premises as required.
  • Possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment (for roles below Principal level).

Nice To Haves

  • Successful medical sales record, preferably with ENT products.
  • Knowledge of ENT assigned product/therapy customer base.
  • Excellent inter-personal and organizational skills.
  • Preference will be given to local qualified candidates and candidates with Medtronic experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct face-to-face sales calls with physicians, nurses, and other key purchase influencers in the sales territory to demonstrate, in-service, and sell Medtronic Surgical Technologies capital and disposable products.
  • Responsible for the successful execution of Sales Action Plans.
  • Plan, strategize, and successfully execute sales calls to all relevant hospital departments, outpatient surgery centers, and doctors’ offices in the territory.
  • Provide support and service to clinical personnel as it relates to the Products in a surgical environment.
  • Keep and maintain any company-owned property and inventory in good working condition.
  • Report competitive activity within the territory to the Region Manager, and maintain all records and reports as requested in a timely fashion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with the Medtronic Surgical Technologies Quality System.
