Area Representative
About The Position
The Area Representative works with the Directors to fulfill FCA’s Vision, pursue its Mission, and live its Values by implementing the ministry plan for the assigned area. In FCA Sports Environments, the Representative promotes a consistent approach to discipleship: making disciples who make disciples. The position is accountable for ensuring FCA ministry is conducted according to biblical standards and FCA policies and procedures. The role provides spiritual leadership and ministry to staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes; recruits, trains, and develops volunteers; and advances ministry through relationships, events, and discipleship activities. The Representative also cultivates financial partners, stewards area finances, develops an annual budget and funding plan, and works with the Director to serve an aligned International Region.
Responsibilities
- Agree with and abide by FCA’s Christian Community Statement.
- Follow a spiritual rhythm that includes daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord’s will for FCA.
- Lead and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship, and personal example.
- Connect with and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
- Conduct oneself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA’s Christian beliefs.
- Engage, equip, and empower coaches and athletes through one-on-one interactions, Huddles, and events.
- Train and equip staff and volunteers to help coaches and athletes become disciples who make disciples in Sports Environments.
- Oversee the recruiting, training, and development of effective and diverse volunteers.
- Attract and recruit qualified volunteers for Sports Environments.
- Provide volunteers with tools, resources, and training to develop their skills and capacity to carry out their responsibilities.
- Prepare volunteers for their roles and responsibilities and support their spiritual and personal growth.
- Connect, communicate, and care for existing and prospective financial partners to become fully funded.
- Manage and steward finances for the assigned area.
- Establish and execute an annual budget and funding plan by growing the Home Team, major donors, and events.
- Work with the Director to serve the aligned International Region through prayer, giving, and going.
