About The Position

The Area Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing all plant operations, assigned personnel and scheduling of product movements for the Company’s Ready Mix concrete business line. The Area Plant Manager will work closely with the respective operations including drivers, internal personnel, and customers to maximize transport efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory experience in the Ready-mix industry preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.
  • Travel to job sites is required as needed.
  • Flexibility is essential as we grow and develop.
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment with many crucial deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees schedules and assists in dispatching drivers to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications or needs.
  • Responsible for overseeing all maintenance and upkeep of all equipment assigned to plant locations.
  • Responsible for all quality assurance of all produced products at all locations.
  • Supervising personnel to address questions, problems, and requests for product.
  • Monitors driver locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules.
  • Assists with customer requests, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.
  • Advises drivers and supervisors of traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions and other hazards.
  • Arranges for necessary equipment repairs to restore service and schedules.
  • Builds professional relationships with customer bases and drivers.
  • Responsible for all equipment and vehicle tracking logs.
  • Assists the Plant Supervisor in recording daily use and current inventories of materials to ensure the supply of all materials is adequate.
  • Ensures that all Company personnel follow proper safety procedures, including the proper use of safety equipment.
  • Works closely with other Area Supervisors, Plant Supervisors and Dispatchers in ensuring the coordination and workflow of all materials, drivers, and equipment are being utilized to fullest potential.
  • Oversees the onboarding and continued training of employees.
