About The Position

To supervise and direct all manufacturing activities and personnel in an efficient manner, adhering to company policies, regulations, and safety standards. The following duties are normal for this position; however, it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational, independent problem solving, and basic math skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize and work well under pressure.
  • Strong persuading and negotiating skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three to five years of supervisory or related experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of computerized business systems, and SAP.
  • Working knowledge of the equipment, processes, policies and procedures, safety, inventory control practices, and quality control standards.
  • General knowledge of the core business, machine and process capabilities of the location.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management and development of assigned salary and hourly staff including selection, orientation, training, succession planning, performance management, evaluation, coaching and discipline.
  • Direct shift supervisors in their daily work activities across all shifts ensuring daily production requirements are met.
  • Participate in daily production scheduling meetings. Maintain adherence to production schedules, ensuring the timely completion of orders.
  • Responsible for ensuring safety, quality, productivity, process improvement, and waste reduction goals are met across shifts. Includes monitoring results to identify areas for improvement.
  • Work with support departments and vendors to maintain efficient operation of machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure employees have the necessary tools and/or supplies to perform their job.
  • Ensure equipment and work areas are properly maintained.
  • Conduct and participate in relevant meetings and/or training.
  • Maintain and review records, data, and documentation as required, ensuring accuracy.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze reports and data, making recommendations to improve.
  • Manage department relevant inventories and supplies as necessary.
  • Participate in lean and continuous improvement process. May train and develop personnel in the management of quality issues and implementation of lean principles.
  • Work independently in the resolution of day-to-day manufacturing issues utilizing cross-departmental relationships while recognizing the need to elevate when appropriate.
