Area Planning Supervisor

About The Position

This role involves supervising people and processes within the planning team, controlling the flow of work for operations through communication, prioritization, and planning of orders. The supervisor will balance customer requirements with operations production capacities, maintain priorities to ensure delivery dates and special requests are met according to service level expectations, and ensure value-added process (VAP) orders are planned and processed correctly. The position also involves developing, sequencing, and adjusting planning strategies to align with business financial goals, and daily communication with operations, customer service, and business units. Responsibilities include maintaining zone profiling to assist Operations in meeting budgeted picking rates, maintaining system configurations and rule sets for order conversion assignment, pick plan allocation, and inventory replenishment, monitoring assigned department demand forecast versus actual interfaced volume, and reporting on various key process indicators. Additionally, the role includes providing direct supervision to department personnel, ensuring a safe work environment, educating direct reports on planning and support processes, evaluating and overseeing training on system tools (including Microsoft Office), maintaining KRONOS coding, documenting and maintaining departmental processes and procedures, and administering performance reviews, disciplinary actions, coaching/counseling, and other employee relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications. (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Ability and desire to work in a high pressure, constantly changing environment.
  • Proven supervisory and leadership skills including organizing and prioritizing work, and motivating staff.
  • Basic knowledge of relational database query building.
  • Proven analytical skills with sound decision making.
  • In-depth knowledge of business rules and systems processes.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing technologies and customer needs.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple responsibilities and priorities.
  • Experience in process analysis and development.

Responsibilities

  • Administer performance reviews, disciplinary actions, coaching/counseling and other employee relations.
