About The Position

Position Overview We are looking for a dedicated, organized, and hands-on Area Manager to oversee daily cleaning operations in Mt. Pleasant and the broader Mid-Michigan region. In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for managing site leads and cleaning associates, conducting quality control inspections, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring all facility standards are consistently met. This full-time position primarily covers evening shifts, aligned with peak commercial cleaning schedules, along with occasional daytime client touchpoints.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory or team management experience, preferably within commercial cleaning, janitorial services, hospitality, or facility management.
  • Valid driver's license with a reliable vehicle and a clean driving record (travel across local accounts required).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively lead staff and interact with business clients.
  • Strong organizational abilities, quick problem-solving skills, and a high level of self-motivation.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 35 lbs, and perform cleaning tasks alongside staff when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day janitorial activities across multiple client facilities.
  • Perform routine quality assurance inspections to maintain high cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Onboard, train, and mentor cleaning associates and site leads.
  • Foster an encouraging, reliable, and accountable workforce.
  • Coordinate team schedules, manage attendance, and step in as needed to ensure complete service coverage without interruption.
  • Monitor equipment condition and track supply inventories across sites, placing timely reorders to keep teams fully equipped.
  • Address client inquiries or feedback promptly, serving as the primary point of contact to ensure total satisfaction.
  • Enforce company safety guidelines, proper chemical handling (OSHA/HAZCOM standards), and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols.
