About The Position

Cleantech is seeking a proactive and experienced Area Manager to oversee a portfolio of residential, commercial, and retail buildings. This role serves as the primary operational leader for assigned sites, ensuring service excellence, strong staff support, and high levels of client satisfaction. As an Area Manager, you will spend the majority of your time in the field conducting site inspections, supporting cleaners and supervisors, resolving service issues, and maintaining clear communication with clients and internal teams. You play a critical role in upholding Cleantech’s service standards and driving consistent performance across your portfolio.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience in janitorial services, facilities management, or building management.
  • Exceptional client-facing communication and relationship management skills.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections across assigned buildings to ensure compliance with Scope of Work (SOW) requirements and Cleantech service standards.
  • Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions through BrightGo or direct communication with onsite staff.
  • Submit digital inspection reports, quality control forms, and follow-up documentation to management and clients as required.
  • Ensure all sites adhere to safety protocols, including WHMIS and Cleantech safety procedures.
  • Supervise, coach, and motivate cleaners and field supervisors to maintain productivity, service quality, and safety standards.
  • Provide on-site training for new hires and refresher training for existing staff, including SOPs, equipment handling, and chemical usage.
  • Monitor staff attendance, timekeeping, and documentation to ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Address minor HR and performance issues professionally and promptly; participate in performance reviews and disciplinary meetings as needed.
  • Verify the completion and accuracy of all required reports, logs, and work order forms.
  • Manage staffing schedules within your portfolio to ensure full coverage across all buildings.
  • Respond to call-outs, no-shows, or staffing gaps during weekdays and coordinate relief coverage as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date schedules within BrightGo.
  • Provide hands-on operational support during emergencies or when coverage cannot be secured.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, concerns, and service requests within your portfolio.
  • Resolve issues promptly or coordinate internal follow-up to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding staffing updates, inspection outcomes, and service performance.
  • Collaborate with office support teams (CSR, Operations, Sales) to ensure seamless coordination related to supply orders, payroll notes, client feedback, and operational updates.
  • Conduct daily check-ins and provide structured operational reports to Operations leadership.
  • Participate actively in Operations meetings, huddles, and planning sessions.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with internal teams and leadership.
  • Use company software tools and mobile devices effectively for scheduling, inspections, and documentation.
  • Support a collaborative, team-oriented culture and participate in cross-training and group problem-solving initiatives.
