About The Position

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. This project aims to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. The Area Manager will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on this complex project with multiple stakeholders' involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff. Field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely.

Requirements

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
Area execution leadership: Lead and integrate all field professional staff within the area to deliver safe, coordinated, and efficient construction execution.
Cross-discipline work planning: Align civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and piping activities to area priorities, sequencing, and constraints.
Schedule & performance ownership: Own area lookaheads, productivity, and critical path impacts; proactively remove constraints and drive recovery actions.
Safety, quality & compliance leadership: Set expectations and ensure consistent application of HSE and QA/QC requirements across all disciplines in the area.
Stakeholder coordination & decision authority: Act as the primary field interface for superintendents, construction management, engineering, and project controls; escalate and resolve issues decisively.

Responsibilities

Responsible for jobsite operations including onsite activities of Bechtel, subcontractors, suppliers, clients and their representatives and others as may be assigned within area of responsibility.
Establishes, coordinates and implements construction schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
Controls jobsite expenditures in assigned area for labor, equipment, material and services and ensures field operations are within budget.
Responsible for overall supervision of personnel in assigned area of responsibility.
Maintains relationships with the client and their representatives, as assigned.
Ensures that Bechtel and local/national regulatory safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with in assigned area of responsibility.
Actively participates in scheduled safety meetings.
Performs general administrative functions inherent in jobsite supervisory positions.
Ensures corporate policies and procedures are fully implemented.
Provides back-up support to the Field Superintendent and/or Field Construction Manager.
