About The Position

This is a 2nd shift position. The Area Manager is responsible for ensuring that team members work safely, produce quality parts, meet production goals, and problem-solve on the shop floor. This role involves preventing the reoccurrence of non-conforming parts by generating ideas for detection or elimination, auditing team performance, and coordinating manufacturing activities. The Area Manager will set up procedures for process control implementation, assist with cross-training to create multi-functional employees, and provide teaching, training, and coaching. They will also have the authority to discipline team members as needed. Responsibilities include assisting with scheduling overtime and die sets, gathering and analyzing MOS information, preparing daily and weekly production needs reports, and assisting in MPS activities to reduce costs or increase performance. The Area Manager will schedule shift production, overlook time cards, and attend production, safety, quality, and current event meetings. They must maintain established employee relations policies and safety and health regulations, and are empowered to demand others maintain quality standards and order jobs to cease running if in question. The role also includes the authority to demand employees meet housekeeping standards at the plant level. Other essential functions may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Prefer high school diploma, technical background or the equivalent.
  • Need at least one year experience on the floor.
  • Good supervisory skills.
  • Need to be cross-trained and know all jobs well.
  • Computer skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities
