About The Position

Stake Center Locating is a provider of utility locating and damage prevention services across the 48 contiguous United States. The Area Manager, Locate oversees locating operations and staff, supports customer and community relationships, and helps ensure safe, accurate, timely service. The position may involve long hours, weekend or holiday work, travel, overnight stays, and out-of-town assignments or training when necessary.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Clean background check for access to restricted and/or controlled areas.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to pass random drug screens and remain drug free.
Computer literacy and above-average computer skills.
Ability to locate and effectively perform a PDR or damage investigation.
Ability to interact effectively with the public, customers, contractors, utility representatives, and staff under the employee’s direction.
Excellent oral and written communication skills at all levels.
Experience in effective leadership in the locating industry.
Comprehensive understanding of underground utility construction and placement.
Successfully complete the company-provided Locate Technician training program and pass all required testing.
Three to five years of experience.

Responsibilities

Oversee workload distribution.
Manage customer relations and interact with Corporate, IT, purchasing, homeowners, and the general public.
Oversee disciplinary action.
Inspect vehicles and equipment.
Order inventory.
Mentor Supervisors to improve performance.
Assist with damage resolution when necessary.
Interpret reports, including PDR, audit, and production reports.
Assist with difficult locate jobs when necessary.
Maintain force-to-load requirements.
Conduct staff performance reviews.
