About The Position

This is a hands-on, continuous improvement-oriented, fast-paced role in a world-class manufacturing environment. The Area Manager position within Brewery Operations or the Shift Supervisor role within Manufacturing Operations offers a chance to be on the production floor, troubleshooting, and problem-solving on the fly to ensure production goals are met. This role provides an opportunity for development as a leader, change agent, and Engineer.

Requirements

  • Current university student or recent university graduate – Bachelor’s Degree with a GPA of 2.8 or greater.
  • A background in Engineering or Science is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends, holidays, & overtime.
  • Ability to walk up and down elevated catwalks and stairs, stand for long periods of time, and work in all environmental conditions including extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to leverage data and insights to provide effective solutions to complex problems.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in previous work experience and/or extracurricular activities.
  • Self-motivated to drive results and deliver above and beyond expectations.
  • Ability to collaborate, be an active listener, seek diverse opinions and input from others, and foster an inclusive environment.
  • Embraces ambiguity and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to effectively manage several projects and teams at once, while being agile in the face of setbacks and change.
  • Consistently questions the status quo, seeks opportunities to improve processes, not afraid of change and willing to take calculated risks.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and leading front-line operational teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Leading diverse teams to identify ways to drive performance through teamwork, empowerment, and leadership in a union environment.
  • Ensuring the safety of yourself and others on the production floor is compliant with all company policies.
  • Upholding quality standards for all products.
  • Problem-solving both personnel and process-related issues.
  • Detecting systematic issues through visual or oral methods from machines or equipment and discussing operations with maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.
  • Utilizing data analysis and lean manufacturing methods for process improvement to enhance product/process efficiency.
  • Providing ongoing training, coaching, discipline, and development to employees.
  • Having tough conversations with a diverse group of people.
  • Leadership of work area that includes being able to speak to performance with senior leadership.
