About The Position

NovaSource Power Services is seeking high-potential leaders to join our Area Manager in Training (AMIT) Program, a structured leadership development pathway designed to prepare candidates for independent Area Manager responsibilities supporting utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) operations. This program combines field leadership exposure, technical training, operational rotations, and mentorship from Regional Directors to build readiness for managing technician teams and generation assets safely and effectively across a defined Area. Participants will spend the initial 4 weeks at the Avondale Training Center and subsequent 4 weeks at the Chandler Headquarters where they will rotate through assignments with Planning & Scheduling, Engineering, Supply Chain, and NovaCommand. Participants are regionally aligned throughout the program and gain experience supporting multiple sites. Upon successful completion, participants transition into an Area Manager role assigned based on business needs within the Region. While location preferences may be considered, final placement aligns with workforce priorities and operational requirements.

Requirements

  • 3+ years supporting utility-scale generation assets, electrical infrastructure, or industrial field operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee site personnel including supervisors, technicians, specialists, and SMEs
  • Manage all plant personnel, policies, and programs, including staffing, morale, training, and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with management and site teams to support strong two‑way communication on operational and maintenance priorities.
  • Participate in hiring, conduct performance reviews, and assess employee competency and contribution.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Operate the plant within approved budgetary targets.
  • Ensure compliance with all operational contracts (e.g., LGIA, PPA, O&M) to protect the long-term interests of the company.
  • Maintain adherence to environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Interface with the various central support groups to review the operation of plant equipment and systems continuously, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate, and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage plant programs based on best practices in the PV industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Continuously improve the condition and performance of the plant.
  • Oversee inventory and use of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
  • Utilize and manage the enterprise asset management system (Maximo) to ensure accurate and complete data integration.
  • Coordinate multiple activities and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence.
  • Independently and collaboratively identify problems, analyze options, and develop effective solutions.
  • Professionally manage challenging customer situations.
  • Maintain availability for 24‑hour on‑call duties to meet operational needs.
