About The Position

This role is responsible for managing the Shipping & Receiving department, ensuring efficient and safe operations. The Area Manager will analyze customer shipping requirements, coordinate the storage, loading, and unloading of products, and manage shipping documentation. This position also involves scheduling freight, leading the shipping team, maintaining records, ordering supplies, and fostering positive customer relationships. Additionally, the role contributes to continuous improvement projects within the department and requires rotating weekend coverage.

Requirements

Experience in Shipping & Receiving operations.
Ability to analyze customer-shipping requirements.
Skills in coordinating storage, loading, and unloading of products.
Proficiency in coordinating shipping documents.
Experience with E.D.I. transactions.
Ability to schedule trucks for inbound & outbound freight.
Leadership skills to direct a shipping team and team leader.
Record-keeping skills for releases and shipping documents.
Ability to maintain pricing, shipping, and billing destinations.
Skill in ordering and maintaining inventory of shipping supplies.
Customer relationship management skills.
Experience with continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities

Analyze customer-shipping requirements and create ship lists.
Coordinate the safe storage, loading, and unloading of product to ensure quality.
Coordinate proper shipping documents with each shipment.
Conduct E.D.I. transactions as required by the customer.
Schedule trucks for inbound & outbound freight.
Provide direction to the shipping team and team leader to drive priorities and assignments.
Maintain records of releases, shipping documents, and keep pricing, shipping, and billing destinations current.
Order supplies to maintain adequate inventory of shipping supplies.
Develop and maintain good customer relationships.
Work on projects for continuous improvement of the S&R Department.
Treat all team members with respect and dignity.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
