This role is responsible for analyzing customer-shipping requirements and creating ship lists to meet those needs. The Area Manager will coordinate the safe storage, loading, and unloading of product to ensure its quality is maintained. This includes coordinating proper shipping documents with each shipment and conducting E.D.I. transactions as required by the customer. The position also involves scheduling trucks for inbound and outbound freight, providing direction to the shipping team and team leader to drive priorities and assignments, and maintaining records of releases, shipping documents, and current pricing, shipping, and billing destinations. Additionally, the role requires ordering supplies to maintain adequate inventory, developing good customer relationships, and providing customer contact backup. There is rotating weekend coverage, and the position will work on projects for continuous improvement of the Shipping & Receiving Department. All team members are to be treated with respect and dignity. Performs other tasks as assigned.
