The Area Manager, Procurement is responsible for maintaining quality and safety standards in their assigned area of responsibility. This includes ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, monitoring compliance, and distributing procedures. The role involves supervising and developing associates and leaders by assigning duties, coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, and providing feedback. The Area Manager will teach, support, and model company policies, identify training needs, and participate in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of staff. They will also monitor and manage productivity by analyzing business reports, resolving customer and supplier concerns, and implementing the business plan for their area. This role serves as the primary point between the organization and vendors, resolving routine supplier issues and escalating non-routine ones. They will research alternative vendors, participate in supplier selection, and ensure purchases meet delivery dates and quality specifications. The Area Manager will also suggest process improvements, gather data for business process analysis, and manage contracts to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations. Budgeting responsibilities include producing budget reports, applying established organizational practices, and using budgeting and chargeback practices. The role requires demonstrating expertise in developing and executing action plans, providing expert advice, and building partnerships with stakeholders to implement business solutions. The Area Manager must model compliance with company policies and values, fostering a culture of integrity and respect for individuals, and strengthening the team through development and recognition.
