This position manages the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring department performance related to maintaining warehouse equipment such as material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, and general building repairs. The role also involves monitoring and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, including OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, and DOT, related to maintenance operations. The Area Manager is responsible for implementing the business plan for their area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety. They will monitor and manage the productivity of their area by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports, and maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, monitoring compliance, and distributing supporting documentation. The role involves identifying and resolving associate, customer, and supplier concerns, and supervising and developing associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and identifying training needs. Financial aspects, as assigned, will be managed by monitoring expenses and capital expenditures against budget, monitoring asset utilization, and preparing business reports.
