This position is responsible for managing the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring performance related to maintaining warehouse equipment such as material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, and general building repairs. The role also involves monitoring and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, including OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, and DOT, related to maintenance operations. The Area Manager will implement the business plan for their area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety. They will monitor and manage productivity by preparing and analyzing business reports, maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on logistics and company policies, and identify and resolve associate, customer, and supplier concerns. Additionally, the role involves supervising and developing associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, identifying training needs, and participating in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation processes. The Area Manager will also manage assigned financial aspects, including monitoring expenses and capital expenditures against budget, and tracking asset utilization.
