About The Position

The Area Manager - Floor position is responsible for implementing the business plan for their area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals. This role involves monitoring and managing the productivity of the area, maintaining quality and safety standards, and identifying and resolving associate, customer, and supplier concerns. The Area Manager will also supervise and develop associates and leaders, build high-performing teams, and foster a culture of belonging. They are expected to act with integrity, serve customers by delivering results and putting the customer first, and strive for excellence by driving continuous improvement and adopting new technologies. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field and 1 year's supervisory experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field OR 1 year's Walmart Logistics Management experience OR 2 years' Walmart Logistics experience OR 2 years' supervisory experience.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Implement the business plan for area of responsibility by communicating goals and managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals.
  • Monitor and manage productivity of area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and/or analyzing business reports.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards in area of responsibility by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, standards, and procedures, monitoring associate compliance, and distributing and maintaining procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Identify associate, customer, and/or supplier concerns by listening and consulting with others to determine corrective action or make recommendations.
  • Supervise and develop associates and leaders in area of responsibility by assigning duties, coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, providing feedback, teaching, supporting, and modeling company policies and procedures, identifying training and development needs, and participating in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation.
  • Build high-performing teams, embrace differences, and create a workplace where associates feel seen, supported, and connected.
  • Attract and retain talent, empower and develop talent, and recognize others' contributions and accomplishments.
  • Maintain and promote the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and compliance, and model company values.
