This position is responsible for managing the daily operations of the energy center maintenance department. This includes diagnosing problems, developing repair alternatives, and taking action to repair electrical systems, electronics, and other areas of the facility related to refrigeration system assets. The role also involves monitoring and ensuring department performance related to maintaining refrigeration equipment, such as electronic controls, system electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, and general building equipment repairs associated with the refrigeration system. Additionally, the position ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, including OSHA, PSM, EPA, NFPA, Storm Water, and DOT, relating to energy center maintenance operations. The Area Manager also manages financial aspects as assigned, including monitoring and tracking expenses and capital expenditures against budget, monitoring asset utilization, and preparing/reviewing/analyzing refrigeration reports. A key aspect of the role is driving quality and safety standards by ensuring equipment, tools, and supplies are in proper working order and available, and by investigating asset-related incidents.
