This role involves managing the daily operations of the energy center maintenance department, including diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, electronics, and refrigeration system assets. The Area Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, managing financial aspects of the department, and driving quality and safety standards. Requirements

  • 1 year Walmart Energy Center Refrigeration Technician experience OR 1 year industrial warehouse refrigeration systems experience OR 1 year refrigeration/HVAC maintenance supervisory experience.
  • Obtain Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA) Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO) and Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) certifications within 30 months of job entry date and maintain them while employed in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the business plan for area of responsibility by communicating goals and managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads.
  • Monitor and manage productivity of area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing refrigeration reports.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards in area of responsibility by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, monitoring compliance, and distributing procedures.
  • Identify associate, customer, and supplier concerns and make recommendations for resolution.
  • Supervise and develop associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and identifying training needs.
  • Manages energy center maintenance department daily operations by diagnosing problems, developing repair alternatives, and taking action to repair electrical systems, electronics, and other areas of the facility related to refrigeration system assets.
  • Monitor and ensure department performance related to maintaining refrigeration equipment (e.g., electronic controls, system electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, general building equipment repairs associated with the refrigeration system).
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, PSM, EPA, NFPA, DOT) relating to energy center maintenance operations.
  • Manage financial aspects as assigned by monitoring and tracking expenses and capital expenditures compared to budget, monitoring asset utilization, and preparing/reviewing/analyzing refrigeration reports.
  • Drive quality and safety standards by ensuring equipment, tools, and supplies are in proper working order and readily available, and investigating asset-related incidents.
