About The Position

This opportunity is in Junction City, KS Agricultural Track facility, located between Salina and Manhattan in the heart of Northeastern, KS. With the current expansion we will be one of the best automated and tech savvy facilities in the region, serving the ever-growing agriculture industry. 15 minutes away from Manhattan, home to the K-State Wildcats, there is a mix of downtown life, multiple outdoor hiking and lake activities, great places to eat, and college game day events to attend. The Area Maintenance Manager will lead a team of 10 - 20 maintenance personnel within a business unit of the facility. They will ensure the availability and durability of equipment in their sector while optimizing maintenance costs and energy in a continuous improvement approach. This should allow Operations to achieve our critical goals of Safety, Quality, Cost and Production.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years prior maintenance management experience including direct supervision of maintenance personnel.
  • Proven leadership of teams, with examples of facilitating progress
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven record of development of people through coaching, mentoring, and establishment of development plans
  • Core schedule would be Monday - Friday on day shift but must be able to support 24/7 operations schedule as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree is a plus, but equivalent experience is considered

Responsibilities

  • Safety requirements are prioritized and always ensured (personnel and equipment)
  • The maintenance strategy is applied to equipment criticality
  • Maintenance plans are implemented, to include effective reaction to breakdowns and proactive work on machinery to improve control of the process (reliability).
  • Effectiveness of machine interventions is continuously optimized (The analysis of maintenance results is ensured and implementation of necessary actions to ensure continuous progress over short- and medium-term horizons)
  • Maintenance cost is optimized: operational efficiency, energy and spare parts consumption
  • The steps and tools of MMW (Michelin Manufacturing Way) are mastered to drive reliability progress
  • The reliability of equipment is ensured, while also dealing with cases of obsolescence.
  • Resources are adapted (competency and quantity), training and succession plans are created and carried out
