Sodexo has an exciting opportunity for an Area General Manager, Food Services to lead operations for a new Corrections Services account launching in September 2026 in Calgary, Alberta. Salary: $95,000 - $120,000 annually Must be eligible to obtain and maintain the required security clearance and complete all required background screening requirements to work in a correctional facility. Requirements

  • Ability to successfully complete a Criminal Record Check (CRC), Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC), and Provincial Government Security Clearance. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain the required security clearance and complete all required background screening requirements to work in a correctional facility.
  • Post-secondary education in Business Management, Hospitality Management, Facilities Coordination, Environmental Services, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 7–9 years of experience in hospitality, guest services, catering, or related operational leadership roles.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing safety programs, return-to-work/modified duties programs, and strong familiarity with WCB, COR audits, and other related safety initiatives.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in supervisory and management roles.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong project management and analytical skills, including the ability to read, analyze, interpret, and forecast project cost reports and assess project status related to scheduling and costing.
  • Strong financial management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, and interpreting financial data and profit and loss statements.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct multiple teams through their daily activities.
  • Arrange all food services across multiple locations ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Lead team through food safety training and foster a strong safety culture within a high volume food service environment in a Corrections facility.
  • Provide formal supervision to employees, monitor the training and development of staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and coaching.
  • Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Schedule and manage the team's daily activities.
  • Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff.
  • Maintain positive client relationships and conduct meetings.
  • Perform facility inspections for quality assurance, following physical and food safety regulations.
  • Manage environmental health and safety procedures for facilities.
