The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) is seeking part-time Area Enumerators to collect accurate and unbiased agricultural data. Enumerators conduct in-depth interviews in person and by telephone with a diverse range of agricultural operations, communicate the benefits of survey participation, and conduct crop counts in designated fields. The information collected supports farmers, ranchers, rural communities, and other agricultural businesses. Enumerators receive comprehensive, study-specific training on animal and plant health, farming practices, procedures, and questionnaires, along with on-the-job training. They enter collected data in a timely manner and report daily progress, time, and mileage. The position starts at $17.84, with mileage reimbursement and required supplies provided. A private workspace with a functional telephone and minimal distractions, as well as a maintained personal vehicle for field travel, are required. Schedules are flexible but may include evenings and weekends to meet deadlines, and work hours may be affected by weather, seasonal farm responsibilities, and community functions. Training travel of up to 250 miles quarterly may be needed. Applicants must pass a background check. NASDA does not discriminate in employment practices or programs based on race, color, national origin, sex, religion, disability, political beliefs, or family status.
