About The Position

As Area Director, you’ll lead and shape the success of two Behavioral Day Programs in Sonoma County, California (Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa) focused on delivering exceptional care and services across the region. This is a highly visible leadership role where you’ll partner closely with supervisors and operational leaders to build strong teams, drive performance, and create a culture centered on quality, accountability, and person-centered support. This role is ideal for an experienced, executive-level leader who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-site environment and is energized by balancing operational leadership, team development, and strategic growth. You’ll have the opportunity to: Lead and mentor first-line supervisors across multiple program sites Drive operational excellence and ensure high-quality service delivery Strengthen relationships with individuals served, their families and guardians, with your employees, and with community partners Oversee compliance with all licensing, certification, contractual, and regulatory standards Manage program financial performance, including budgeting, occupancy, utilization, and overall operational health Partner with senior leadership to execute growth strategies, expand services, and support business development initiatives Influence program direction and play a key role in advancing organizational goals across the region

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services-related field required (Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Allied Health, Educational Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or related field)
  • 5 years of management experience with a minimum of 3 years of experience in human services supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities or mental health needs
  • Demonstrated financial management and budgeting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations, including Title 17 and Title 22

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • Experience in Adult Day Programs
  • Knowledge of California regulatory compliance and licensing standards
  • Experience partnering with California Regional Centers to coordinate services
