About The Position

PCL is hiring an additional Area Director (AD) in Jackson and Josephine counties. Area Directors provide leadership to assigned Service Team Coordinators, the direct support professionals they supervise, and other administrative support personnel. This role ensures residential services, agency-wide, are supported and fulfilled, as directed by PCL’s mission, playbook values, and the people receiving services. This position is also part of PCL’s Southern Oregon Operations team, which, along with another Area Director and several other key personnel based in Southern Oregon, provides local administrative leadership, on-call participation, and support to all team members in Jackson and Josephine counties. A successful Area Director requires managing multiple priorities and is instrumental in ensuring safe and exceptional support to both children and adults experiencing Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and co-occurring mental illness. This role requires exceptional multitasking skills and firsthand knowledge of current Oregon Administrative Rules. Highly qualified candidates will have direct supervisory experience in the I/DD field within the comprehensive service industry.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience required in a position with similar oversight skills and abilities.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age when starting employment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft and Google applications and with an emphasis on presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational ability: strong attention to detail; prioritize concurrent work on multiple projects.
  • Be knowledgeable of and promote person-centered tools, philosophies, and Oregon’s ISP process.
  • Consistent, professional dress and manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and ethical behavior.

  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening for illegal substances in Oregon.
  • Complete and maintain all certifications as required by the position, PCL, and other governing agencies.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain certification to a satisfactory level in Oregon Intervention System (training provided if hired).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain certification in CPR (training provided if hired).
  • Complete all duties related to being a Mandatory Abuse Reporter.
  • New hire orientation and on-site training must be completed within 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference given to experience in the I/DD field.
  • Must be able to lift and transfer 50 pounds minimum.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, supervision, mentoring, training, and coaching of Service Team Coordinators (STC) and other assigned PCL team members.

  • Be able to cover for all positions you supervisor and positions your direct reports supervise, i.e. Service Team Coordinator, Direct Support Professional.
  • Provide administrative on-call support in assigned rotation and ensure that all supervised team members are also providing on-call support in assigned rotation.
