About The Position

We're seeking an experienced and strategic Area Director to oversee multiple physical therapy clinics within our growing organization. This senior leadership role combines clinical excellence with business acumen to drive operational performance, quality care, and growth across a regional network of physical therapy facilities. The ideal candidate will provide executive leadership while ensuring all locations deliver exceptional patient outcomes and maintain regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE-accredited program, or eligibility to obtain, preferred
  • Current physical therapy license in good standing or eligibility to obtain, preferred
  • 5+ years of clinical experience with at least 3 years in progressively responsible management roles
  • Proven track record of successful multi-site healthcare management
  • Demonstrated business acumen with experience in P&L management, budgeting, and strategic planning
  • Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement models, compliance regulations, and quality metrics
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with healthcare technology systems and data-driven decision making
  • Ability to travel regularly between clinic locations within the district (approximately 20-30%)

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight and operational leadership for multiple physical therapy locations within a designated geographic district
  • Develop and implement business strategies to achieve financial targets, improve operational efficiency, and drive clinic growth
  • Ensure clinical excellence and compliance with all regulatory requirements across all locations
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor clinic directors, establishing clear performance expectations and accountability
  • Monitor key performance indicators including patient outcomes, productivity metrics, and financial results
  • Build and maintain relationships with referral sources, healthcare partners, and community organizations
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align district operations with organizational goals
  • Identify market opportunities for service expansion and new clinic development
  • Oversee capital expenditure planning and budgeting for regional clinics
  • Champion a positive culture focused on exceptional patient care and employee engagement
