About The Position

Oxford Collection is seeking an experienced and dynamic Area Director to lead their Pendleton location and provide operational oversight and support to properties in Hermiston, Oregon, and Yakima, Washington. This role offers the opportunity to earn a performance-driven bonus potential exceeding 20% of the annual base pay. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader skilled in building strong teams, mentoring hotel leaders, and driving operational excellence. A strong financial acumen, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining brand standards while delivering outstanding guest experiences are essential. This position is for a results-driven hospitality leader who enjoys developing people, improving performance, and creating exceptional guest experiences.

Requirements

  • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet company driving standards.
  • Must have strong computer skills, including Microsoft products and RoomKey.
  • Must have excellent organization and time management skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least two years of successful Oxford employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or four-year college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct operations support to specific hotels.
  • Assist specific hotels to achieve goals and objectives, including operational support, monitoring profitability, guest satisfaction, and employee satisfaction.
  • Direct management in accordance with company policies and practices.
  • Develop and implement strategies for meeting goals in revenue generation, market share performance, guest satisfaction, and net operating income.
  • Ensure general managers have clear and concise goals.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to assigned managers.
  • Audit hotels for compliance through trip checks.
  • Review all employee relations issues identified by the General Manager.
  • Ensure all company standards and controls are implemented and followed.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the hotel overall, ensuring the property meets sanitation and cleanliness standards.
  • Oversee the control of operating costs.
  • Communicate with guests, provide exceptional services, and ensure resolutions are provided.
  • Communicate and investigate all employee and guest safety and other incidents.
  • Complete monthly and quarterly budget reviews.
  • Review invoice details, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Audit and correct any discrepancies within the reservation system.
  • Participate and lead in the revenue management process.
  • Facilitate effective communication between the property's general manager and hotel staff.
  • Review and complete long and short-term goals of the hotel.
  • Manage cost control and expenditures.
  • Regularly inspect property for cleanliness and overall presentation.
  • Maintain continuous communication with the home office.
  • Provide coverage for a property if a Task Force Manager is unavailable.
  • Complete and assign recruiting, hiring, training, and employee development processes to department managers.
  • Communicate and investigate employee relations issues, simultaneously communicating to the home office.
  • Oversee the Safety Program and assist with the RTW program.
  • Review schedules and complete payroll if needed.
  • Communicate clearly, effectively, and timely with guests in person and through other means of communication.
  • Continuously review staff overall training and customer service.
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability.
  • Participate in the hotel drivers program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
