About The Position

Area Director of Operations |Regional Hotel Group| Salary $100-110,000 base Our company is a growing owner-operator of select-service and extended-stay hotels across multiple markets. We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Operations to lead a portfolio of hotels. The Director of Operations drives revenue, operational excellence, and team performance while serving as the key link between property leadership and corporate support.

Requirements

  • 5+ years as Area Director, Regional Director, or multi-unit Director of Operations.
  • Proven success leading select-service and extended-stay hotels across Marriott, Hilton, IHG brands preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen with expertise in P&L management, budgeting, labor optimization, and NOI growth.
  • Working knowledge of Xquic, HIA, Factura, and PMS systems.
  • Ability to lead and develop remote teams, manage multiple priorities, and travel extensively, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily revenue analysis with Xquic and monitor SRP and LOS trends to maximize revenue.
  • Perform deep dives on underperforming properties to identify lost business and opportunities.
  • Develop custom sales tactics and new business targeting strategies with hotel teams.
  • Attend weekly revenue, marketing, and brand communication calls.
  • Manage day-to-day communication, coaching, and ongoing training of General Managers.
  • Monitor property performance including OOO rooms, adjustments, expenses, labor models, and P&L results.
  • Conduct monthly P&L reviews with follow-up action plans.
  • Perform regular on-site property walks and surprise evening/weekend visits to ensure brand and cleanliness standards.
  • Serve as operational coverage during GM vacancies and support fellow Directors as needed.
  • Ensure all licenses, permits, and insurance claims are current.
  • Review and approve POs and invoices in Factura and ensure daily entries are released in HIA.
  • Monitor AR, guest ledger, and utility usage.
  • Review payroll accuracy, assist with annual budgets, and complete monthly NOI recaps.
  • Act as liaison with corporate and offshore accounting teams.
  • Serve as primary contact for brand visits, QA reviews, PMS cutovers, and renovation calls.
  • Ensure waivers are current, QA action plans are executed, and all brand-required training is completed.
  • Monitor completion of preventative maintenance and deep cleans.
  • Maintain vendor relationships including HD Supply, CILS, YESCO, and major equipment vendors.
  • Lead onboarding of new GMs and foster a culture of accountability and continuous development.
  • Assist with interviews for GM, DOS, and Department Head roles, conduct annual GM reviews, and assist with employee relations and terminations as needed.
  • Submit background checks and support recruitment and training at the property level.
  • Participate in CVB and Chamber of Commerce events and serve on local boards as a company representative.
  • Support due diligence, property tours for buyers, and onboarding for new acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Complete weekly portfolio recap identifying key metrics and hotels needing focused support.
  • Attend corporate huddles and assist with GM/DOS meeting content.
