About The Position

The Area Director of Minute Clinic Operations leads a geographically diverse area, overseeing senior field leaders and clinic operations across multiple states. This role is responsible for setting strategic direction, driving operational and financial performance, developing high-performing teams, and advancing growth initiatives aligned with CVS Health and MinuteClinic priorities. The Area Director partners across the enterprise to improve patient care, strengthen execution, and lead change in a complex, fast-paced environment. Area 1 represents 194 clinics across the West Coast (TX, AZ, CA, KS, MO, WA, NV, Hawaii, & Nebraska). Heavy travel up to 75%, typically three or more days a week is required.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of professional experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience), including 5+ years leading leaders in a geographically diverse, multi-site environment.
  • Proven success leading large-scale operations and delivering results across complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams, develop talent, and lead through change.
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in fast-paced, high-visibility environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%, typically multiple days per week.
  • Must reside within the coverage area, preferably in Texas or within 50 miles of a MinuteClinic location in the designated coverage area.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience required.

  • Ensure clinics are appropriately staffed and supported to meet patient demand and business needs.
  • Maintain focus on quality, compliance, safety, and regulatory readiness.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to grow the business and improve market performance.
  • Partner cross-functionally to implement strategic initiatives and lead organizational change.
  • Help position the organization for future growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
