About The Position

This role is responsible for overseeing pharmacy operations within a specific area, focusing on health and wellness initiatives outside of traditional store operations. The Area Coach will leverage their knowledge in financial acumen, communication, safety, project management, data analysis, operations, customer service, operational excellence, and medical prescription administration to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. They will also embody Walmart's core values of Respect the Individual, Act with Integrity, Serve our Customers and Members, and Strive for Excellence, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

Requirements

  • Option 1: 1 year's experience as a Walmart supervisor.
  • Option 2: 2 years’ external leadership experience leading a team of five or more supervisors and/or employees.
  • As permitted by applicable law, provide evidence of full vaccination as defined by CDC guidelines OR secure approval of medical or religious accommodation for the vaccination mandate.
  • To complete a Board-approved program or Pharmacy Technician University program.
  • Must become a registered pharmacy technician in state of practice within one year of job entry.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the drivers of financial metrics and their impact on business results.
  • Perform analyses based on independent reasoning to draw appropriate conclusions.
  • Analyze business and financial data and support the implementation and tracking of business plans.
  • Communicate the results of analyses to various audiences.
  • Organize thoughts and communicate credibly and concisely in an interdivisional/interdepartmental setup.
  • Present to and influence team members, customers, and clients, conveying complex information clearly and accurately.
  • Independently assemble and prepare reports/materials/storylines based on relevant fact-based information.
  • Influence team members and leaders to take action based on sound recommendations.

  • Develop, prioritize, and coordinate work plans, review project schedules, cost expenditures, milestones, communications, and documentation.
  • Follow project management methodologies by tracking and monitoring work, holding project teams accountable to timelines, and ensuring adherence to milestones.
  • Identify potential risks of projects and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Create communication plans that determine communication level, frequency, detail, and distribution of status updates.
  • Employ basic data collection and analysis methods and procedures.
  • Examine analytical results to ensure the quality and accuracy of data collection and analysis.
  • Contribute to the collection and analysis of data for Health Wellness operations.
  • Follow proper data collection and analysis methodologies and processes.
  • Inform leadership of any difficulties that arise throughout the data collection process.
  • Supervise resource management.
  • Plan the delivery and improvement of services, programs, and personnel.
  • Provide technical consultation, guidance, and oversight for Health Wellness operations.
  • Direct, establish, and plan the overall policies and goals for various Health Wellness services.
  • Coordinate and evaluate the quality of operations delivered throughout the organization.
  • Analyze problem trends and take steps to avoid recurring problems.
  • Facilitate the resolution of customer problems, issues, or concerns.
  • Ensure the identification of customer needs and priorities.
  • Monitor and report on the delivery of promised deliverables.
  • Manage expectations of third-party techs and vendor help desk techs who provide direct customer service.
  • Assess situations based on awareness of the goals and operating issues of the assigned department.
  • Seek guidance when assigned goals conflict with departmental goals or overall strategies.
  • Understand the importance of and implementation of One Best Way processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Follow regulatory processes and procedures for the assigned department.
  • Seek and analyze situations or conditions with potential regulatory implications.
  • Identify and report safety hazards and anomalies during operations processes.
  • Participate in basic prescription verification practices.
  • Troubleshoot actual and potential drug therapy-related issues.
  • Adapt existing prescription administration processes according to organizational policies.
  • Comply with organizational prescription administration assessment standards.
