This role involves advocating for and upholding the design intent of stations, transit facilities, and urban infrastructure, ensuring seamless translation into coordinated, high-quality construction documentation. The position requires leadership in planning work, developing solutions to technical and design detail problems, and managing project budgets and schedules. The architect will supervise the preparation of technical drawings, create and present client presentations, and ensure adherence to QA/QC and HOK Best Practice standards. A key aspect is the incorporation of Integrated Sustainable Design solutions and mentoring less experienced staff. The role also involves fostering collaborative relationships within the Project Leadership Team and ensuring the overall strategy for producing documents and organizing data, including BIM, is followed. The architect will also be responsible for client interface, communicating with client representatives to verify design requirements, progress reviews, and final presentation delivery. Teamwork is essential, involving the analysis and development of architectural documents, technical resolution and coordination, and developing solutions to design problems. This includes attending on-site visits, coordinating with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors, performing product research, and assisting with material selection and system research. The role requires communication with project managers, clients, public agencies, consultants, and contractors to incorporate engineering systems, respond to requests for information, and obtain approvals. Writing reports and memos, reviewing plans and estimates, and participating in team meetings to resolve project issues, ensure schedule adherence, and address technical challenges are also key responsibilities. The architect will apply proper QA/QC methods, provide support to team members, and may assist with construction administration document management and defining project work plans.
