Architecture Senior Advisor- Hybrid
About The Position
Cigna-Evernorth Services Inc. seeks an Architecture Senior Advisor in Raleigh, North Carolina. The role builds and maintains the architectural runway and technical foundation for Company initiatives, new features, and capabilities. It supports delivery teams that implement and maintain applications for Company products. The position participates in continuous technical exploration within the continuous delivery pipeline; develops and reviews system architecture solutions; and provides hands-on technical mentoring to agile development teams. It contributes to application and enterprise architecture roadmaps, supports engineering and delivery teams in building standards-conformant applications, and provides leadership for application-domain sizing efforts. The role also presents solution and technology recommendations, supports application performance and stress testing, helps maintain System Architecture team practices and processes, and ensures solutions fit project schedules and costs. The position has a hybrid work schedule. For occasional or permanent work from home, the internet connection must use a cable broadband or fiber optic provider and provide at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speeds.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Five years of experience as a Software Engineer, IT Analyst, or in a related occupation.
- Experience with Spring Integration and MQ to read and process data.
- Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD), writing JUnit test cases before implementation.
- Experience deploying projects into multiple environments, including DEV, SYS, PVS, and PROD.
- Experience writing Cucumber (Specification by Example) scenarios for requirements.
- Experience developing RESTful services according to business requirements.
- Experience using Eclipse to write code and SVN for version control.
- Experience writing Maven scripts to build applications.
- Experience deploying applications using Linux (Mac OS terminal) in IT, UAT, and production environments.
- Experience implementing complex modules using Java/J2EE frameworks, including Spring, Hibernate, and web services.
- Experience with relational database design, BRMS Drools Rule Engine, Windows, Struts, Servlets, JavaScript, Ajax, SVN, MVC, WebSphere Server, and Apache Tomcat Server.
Responsibilities
- Participate in continuous technical exploration as part of the continuous delivery pipeline, including enabling Epics, defining subsystems and interfaces, allocating responsibilities, understanding solution deployment, and communicating requirements for interactions with solution context.
- Deliver and review System Architecture (SA) solutions for a specific application or group of applications.
- Provide hands-on technical expertise and mentoring to teams and projects, develop capabilities through new technology and products, and remain deeply involved with agile development teams.
- Contribute to Company application roadmaps and support enterprise architecture product and capability roadmaps across systems and products.
- Support engineering and delivery teams in building and maintaining applications that conform to standards, architectures, and technologies.
- Support application-domain sizing and lead the organization and facilitation of team sizing efforts to help ensure end-to-end solutions meet business needs.
- Present solutions, logical design direction, and technology recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
- Support application performance, volume, and stress testing.
- Help create and maintain best practices, deliverables, and processes for the System Architecture team.
- Ensure solutions fit project schedules and costs, providing optionality when necessary.
