About The Position

Ferguson Construction is a premier Design-Build commercial general contractor with a strong history of co-op hires who often become permanent members of their design department. This unique co-op position offers students in-depth construction knowledge, as Ferguson Construction builds what they design. The role involves working directly with the Managing Architect and design staff to design, draft, detail, and assemble preliminary and construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit. Students will also use Revit and Enscape to create 3D models, renderings, and potentially animations for client visualization. This position provides the opportunity to take preliminary designs of various building types, contribute design and detailing input, and create construction documents. It requires problem-solving skills and aims to teach students all facets of construction for designing unique projects. The depth of tasks will depend on the student's proficiency, with previous successful co-ops having independently designed additions and new buildings with supervision.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Architecture or Master's in Architecture degree.
Must be able to commute to the Sidney, OH office.
Must be available for Winter/Spring 2027 co-op term.

Nice To Haves

Understanding of construction.
Experience in Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

Design, draft, detail, and assemble preliminary and construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit.
Use Revit and Enscape to create 3D models, renderings, and animations for client visualization.
Take preliminary designs of various building types, provide design and detailing input, and create documents for construction.
Collaborate with architectural designers, civil designers, business development, estimating, site superintendents, construction crew leaders, subcontractors/suppliers, and clients.
Work heavily in AutoCAD Architecture, Revit, and Enscape.
