About The Position

Lawrence Group is seeking an experienced Architectural Project Manager to join their Retail team in the St. Louis office. This role is responsible for managing multiple small to medium-sized retail projects, coordinating all aspects of assigned work, and estimating scope with precision. The Project Manager will have full accountability for driving project success from concept through completion, ensuring alignment with client brand standards, design intent, budgets, and schedules. The role involves preparing strategic plans for project execution, leading administrative, technical, and design coordination for efficient, cost-effective outcomes, and serving as the primary client liaison. Responsibilities include managing project budgets, schedules, and programs; overseeing team assignments and documentation; guiding consultants; ensuring quality control; estimating fees; defining scope of work; preparing proposals and contracts; and supporting business development initiatives within the Retail Market. Project work will encompass the full range of design through construction administration, managing a small team, and providing leadership on design-forward retail, QSR, and med-tail accounts with multiple locations across the U.S.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited institution
  • 7-10+ years of professional experience, preferably in a commercial design firm using Revit and AutoCAD and managing projects.
  • Excellent design, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of general interior construction, methods & materials, details and standard building codes.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft (Office, Outlook, Excel, Word) and the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) is a minimum requirement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with a strong work ethic, with the ability to manage multiple projects deadlines.
  • Excellent client interaction/communication balanced with production mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and other project stakeholders to define project goals, objectives, and design requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including budgets, schedules, resource allocation, and procurement strategies.
  • Coordinate and manage project teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout all project phases.
  • Conduct regular project meetings to track progress, address issues, and provide updates to stakeholders.
  • Monitor project financial performance and profitability, identify potential risks, and implement proactive measures to mitigate them.
  • Oversee consultant engagement and coordination.
  • Review architectural designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with client requirements, building codes, regulations, and design intent.
  • Collaborate with architects and design teams to develop detailed construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of design documentation and coordinate with relevant parties for timely approvals.
  • Oversee the construction process, ensuring adherence to design intent, quality standards, and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, address any issues, and ensure compliance with project specifications (if applicable).
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship and workmanship are maintained.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking, and forecasting.
  • Develop project agreements / proposals with assistance from supervisor.
  • Review and approve project-related expenses, change orders, and invoices.
  • Monitor project financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement appropriate measures.
  • Reviewing/approving consultants' invoices.
