QSSK- ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEER/ STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
About The Position
Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan. On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Architectural Engineer / Structural Engineer to work in Kenya. Job Purpose: To support the planning, design, execution, and supervision of building projects under the guidance of senior engineers. The role involves assisting with engineering drawings, site inspections, and compliance checks, ensuring adherence to Kenyan building codes and EBK standards while contributing to the timely and quality delivery of government/public-sector construction projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural, Building, or Construction Engineering.
- Registered or progressing towards registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) or Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS).
- Less than 5 years' relevant experience in building engineering.
- Experience working on government/public-sector construction projects is essential.
- Exposure to residential, commercial, institutional, or public infrastructure projects.
- Basic knowledge of Kenyan building regulations, contract administration, and HSE requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong teamwork and coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- High integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Results-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, design, and supervision of building projects.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports under supervision.
- Support the promotion of sustainable and energy-efficient building solutions.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, structural, MEP engineers, and contractors.
- Participate in continuous improvement and knowledge development.
- Ensure compliance with Kenyan building codes, EBK standards, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Conduct site inspections, monitor progress, and report technical issues to senior engineers.
- Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, risks, and resources.
- Support procurement, contractor evaluation, and contract administration.
- Prepare project reports and communicate with clients and stakeholders as directed.
