About The Position

RGS Products Inc. is a family-owned architectural railing and metals company in Northwest Pennsylvania. This is a full-time, in-office position located at the Waterford, PA facility. Employees in this role are expected to work Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with overtime as required. The Architectural Drafter/Detailer is responsible for preparing design documents and drawings throughout all phases of construction projects. This role will produce drawings for submission to Architects and RGS’s fabrication shop, including plans, sections, details, and bills of material. The Drafter/Detailer will collaborate directly with Project Managers and client Architects/GCs to create project documents and drawings.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years’ experience with Autocad (2D)
  • 2-4 years’ experience with Microsoft Word & Excel
  • 2-4 years’ experience with Adobe or Bluebeam pdf software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with construction, manufacturing, and/or aluminum extrusions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with AutoCad drafting software to create, modify, and release submittal and fabrication drawings.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, building codes, and RGS standards to ensure details conform to project requirements.
  • Utilize dynamic blocks and maintain drawing standards across all projects.
  • Organize and manage project files for easy access and revision.
  • Communicate effectively with Engineers, Project Managers, and Clients to clarify specifications and resolve drafting-related issues.
  • Produce RFIs and support documentation for project records.
  • Quantify materials needed for the project and assemble Bills of Material for purchase.
  • Ensure work is completed accurately and within project deadlines.
  • Occasional travel to job sites to troubleshoot installation issues (5% travel).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
