About The Position

Beyer Blinder Belle, with offices in New York City, Boston, Washington, D.C., and Miami, is seeking an enthusiastic Architectural Designer to join its Washington, D.C. office. Our ideal candidate is excited about shaping meaningful civic, cultural, institutional, and mixed-use environments through new construction, historic preservation, and adaptive reuse projects. We are seeking a motivated Architectural Designer to join our Washington, D.C. office and contribute to a range of projects, including new construction, historic preservation, and adaptive reuse work. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working collaboratively through multiple project phases, from conceptual design through construction administration, and will bring strong technical and design capabilities to complex project environments.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of professional experience (licensed or actively pursuing licensure)
  • Professional degree in Architecture
  • Strong proficiency in Revit required
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite required
  • Ability to independently evaluate, select, and apply architectural design and technical solutions for specific assignments with support and direction from a Senior Architect or above
  • Responsible for managing time effectively to meet deadlines and communicating proactively with project managers and team members
  • Responsible for document production, design team coordination, and contributing to collaborative production workflows
  • Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage deliverable production and schedules independently for smaller projects and with senior-level support on larger, more complex projects

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Enscape and Rhino strongly preferred
  • Experience working on existing buildings, preservation, or adaptive reuse projects strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with MEP systems coordination is a plus, particularly within renovation and existing building conditions
