About The Position

Morton Buildings, Inc. is the industry leader in post-frame construction with a 120-year history and a nationwide network of facilities. The Architectural Associate is a full-time position responsible for drafting detailed construction drawings and specifications for civil engineering projects. This role is part of the Morton Buildings ArchiTrak™ Program, designed to help individuals gain the experience needed to become a licensed architect through collaboration across the company and adherence to NCARB's Architectural Experience Program (AXP). Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Architecture or a Master of Architecture degree from a National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) accredited program.
  • Self-starter and motivated individual, willing to learn and contribute at a fast pace.
  • Excellent oral and communication skills.
  • Strong collaborator and demonstrated experience in teams.
  • Eligible to work permanently in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using AutoCAD and Revit preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops various forms of architectural building plans from written contracts within an AutoCAD program, including building specifications and layouts, sections, details, truss drawings, and specialty items for building code issues.
  • Utilize Revit to create preliminary concept drawings, supporting the design team in early project development.
  • Interacts and develops relationships with various individuals across the company, including engineers, architects, construction estimators, sales estimators, project managers, and sales consultants.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally within practice management, project management, programming and analysis, project planning and design, project development and documentation, and construction evaluation from project conception through construction document creation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
