About The Position

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for an Aircraft Architect Flight Physics to join our Chief engineering team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada). You will be part of the Overall Aircraft Design team responsible for establishing the development roadmap for the A220. The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively. Your role as Aircraft Architect Flight Physics will be to carry out Chief Engineering responsibilities for aircraft development, translating program objectives into technical requirements and ensuring platform integrity.

Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor or Master University degree in Engineering or equivalent field
  • You have minimum 12 years experience in aircraft design, with some specific experience in Technical domain covering at least 1 domain amongst aerodynamics, aircraft and engine performance, stability & control or flight control laws
  • Experience working with customer support and production personnel to understand cross-functional interactions in the Technical and flight operations perimeter
  • Capability to challenge technical dossiers and validation of designs against established requirements
  • Capability to present solutions and plans to senior management, suppliers and customers
  • Awareness of airworthiness compliance process

Responsibilities

  • Work with all aircraft level architects to ensure the interactions with technical disciplines are appropriately identified, planned and executed for aircraft modifications affecting the following domains: aerodynamics, aircraft and engine performance, stability & control and flight control laws
  • Manage priorities of engineering teams to align with overall product development needs
  • Contributing to the development of Top Level Aircraft Requirements and Data Basis for Design
  • Establish development maturity gate criteria for technical discipline content, and evaluation of design maturity against the established criteria
  • Contribute to safety and airworthiness of A220 product and preparing dossiers for decision making by A220 Chief Engineer
  • Assist Customer Support and Production teams in defining root-cause and solutions of operational degradation items arising in these areas
  • Support Sales and Marketing in proposing and following execution of aircraft modifications impacting A220 attractively
  • Define engineering operating budget allocations in conjunction with the Head of OAD.
