About The Position

HCM is seeking a licensed architect with extensive construction administration experience to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will perform construction administration activities for their Baltimore, MD office, primarily supporting the Senior Living and Affordable Housing Studios. This role involves overall project management during the construction phase, acting as a liaison between design professionals, client representatives, and the general contractor. The position requires attending and potentially conducting job site meetings locally and regionally, with travel expected. The architect will provide on-site construction observations as needed, respond to design and construction issues, and prepare construction contract documents including Addenda and Architect's Supplemental Instructions. Responsibilities also include administration of the construction process, such as RFI and submittal review, change order review, and field report preparation, as well as reviewing project budgets and payment applications. The role requires working in-office and on job site environments as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering or an equivalent combination of related education and experience preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in construction project management.
  • Registered Architect required.
  • Strong time management and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Attention to detail, organization skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and work from construction documents and specifications.
  • A portfolio or work samples must be submitted to be considered for the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a customer-focused, team-oriented environment is a plus.
  • Revit, Newforma, Submittal Exchange, eBuilder, Pro-Core, and other management software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities
